About Brandon Hinrichs

Founder & Director – The Next Right Step

Brandon Hinrichs is a Christian man, a servant leader, and a living example of what it means to walk in faith, perseverance, and purpose. With several years of personal sobriety and over 15 years of professional experience in Nebraska's social work system, Brandon has dedicated his life to helping others find healing, stability, and renewed direction through compassion, structure, and accountability.

As the Founder and Director of The Next Right Step, Brandon brings together his deep spiritual conviction and professional expertise to create a space where men and women can rebuild their lives — one choice, one day, and one step at a time. His belief is simple but powerful: no one is beyond restoration when given the right support, truth, and opportunity to grow.

Professional Journey

Brandon's professional journey has taken him through nearly every corner of Nebraska's human services field. Over the past 15 years, he has worked directly with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Nebraska Probation System, and a wide range of community-based organizations that serve families, youth, and individuals in recovery. Through those years, he has gained firsthand experience in what truly transforms lives — not paperwork or programs alone, but authentic relationships, accountability, and faith in something greater than ourselves.

Throughout his career, Brandon has served as a case manager, family support provider, program developer, and behavioral health specialist. He has facilitated countless groups, walked alongside individuals in some of their hardest seasons, and built systems that help agencies better support those they serve. Today, as the Director of In-Home Family Services at Epworth Village, he continues that same mission on a larger scale — guiding families through crisis toward restoration, stability, and renewed hope.

Leadership Philosophy

Brandon's leadership philosophy is rooted in humility and service. He believes that every person — no matter their background, mistakes, or struggles — has value, purpose, and the ability to change. As someone who has walked the path of recovery himself, he understands the courage it takes to start over. His faith has been both his anchor and his compass, reminding him daily that true strength comes not from pride or perfection, but from surrender and perseverance.

At The Next Right Step, Brandon combines his faith-based perspective with trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches to support men and women in all stages of recovery. His methods are practical, grounded in real-world experience, and deeply relational. He emphasizes personal accountability, spiritual growth, and the power of community — believing that no one should walk the journey alone.

Personal Character

Beyond his professional titles, Brandon is known as a humble, down-to-earth individual who leads with integrity and empathy. He has been trained extensively in areas of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, family systems, and recovery-focused interventions, and continues to pursue ongoing education in behavioral health and leadership. Yet, he's the first to admit that his most valuable lessons have come not from books or certifications, but from walking beside people in their moments of struggle and breakthrough.

Brandon is also a firm believer in advocacy — that every person deserves to stand up for their rights, access the support they need, and be treated with dignity and respect. Through The Next Right Step, he hopes to not only support individuals in recovery, but also to strengthen the broader systems that serve them. His vision is to build a statewide network of hope, where every man and woman knows that they have the ability to change, and that their next right step is never out of reach.

Family & Faith

At home, Brandon is a devoted husband and father, grateful for the blessings of family and faith that sustain him. His story is one of redemption, resilience, and responsibility — a reminder that every trial can become a testimony when surrendered to God's purpose.

"Recovery isn't about being perfect — it's about being willing. It's about doing the next right thing, even when it's hard. Every step you take toward healing matters, because God can use every single one of them to write a new story."

— Brandon Hinrichs

Through The Next Right Step, Brandon continues to live out that belief every day — helping others rediscover their strength, their faith, and their freedom, one right step at a time.
